AGASTHYA MAHARISHI

Agastya Maharshi is one of the revered Saptharishis and a foundational figure in Indian spirituality. He is celebrated as the father of Siddha medicine and the creator of the earliest Tamil grammar (Agattiyam). 

Tradition says he brought Vedic culture to South India and still meditates in the Agasthyamalai hills.

Spreading Wisdom to the South: Agastya is said to have relocated to the south to balance the earth’s population, which was becoming heavily concentrated in the north. He is credited with bringing the river Kaveri to the south.

Agastya Maharshi is considered a great yogic master who simplified profound spiritual sciences so they could be accessed by common people. He was a direct disciple of Adiyogi Shiva and continues to be highly revered as a Siddhar guru in the Tamil Shaivite traditions.
